The Pocket Museum. Thats what we call our smartphone app on the iOS platform. With this app, anyone can view our themed exhibits, stroll through the virtual halls of the museum, reading, listening and, most importantly, viewing rare telephones from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. To see the faces of those who stood at the birth of the first telephone and thank them for their amazing achievements that fundamentally changed life!
The application is very simple to use and does not require detailed instructions.
It consists of several themed exhibits devoted to specific topics. Each exhibition has a name, place and time when and where it took place, a brief description of what it was devoted to and, of course, a list of exhibits with photos supplemented by interesting historical facts (which you can not only read but also listen to by clicking on the relevant menu button (headphones)). You will also be informed of upcoming exhibitions and send an invitation to your friends.
We recommend the section ‘About the Museum‘, where you may read interesting pieces about the formation and development of the Telephone Museum, the only one of its kind in Europe. This project may well inspire someone to create a similar museum in another industry. The app also contains brief information about the telecommunications company, Mastertel, the inspiration and main sponsor of the museum, thanks to whom the Telephone History Museum has very quickly taken its well-deserved place in the cultural life of the two capitals. It is now listed as one of the tourist attractions in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
